Here is the Victorian dollhouse on which my husband and I are working. The first photo shows a window. There are 15 double hung windows- a real labor of love for my husband!

I am starting with the library and have begun to plan it, buying pieces here and there that resonate with me. The other photos show a piece of original miniature art made by Jim Coates, a rug and books.

The artwork's frame is cast in hard resin and the center piece is brass. The rug is machine woven, and I made the books myself using reduced illustrations I purchased online. I cut, folded and glued, using card stock for some of the backing. I coated the cover with tacky glue as it gives the paper a sheen. I also used a gold pen to make gilt page edges and a brown ink/stamp pad to age the book appropriately.

I forgot to mention the floor! It can be seen in photos two, three and four. It is real wood and is a sheet that I'll be adhering onto the floor of the library.

That's what i need to do! Find one that looks like my real house and fill it like my house! My house is my picture. Its a 1849 historic 6700 square feet 3 story house. With a hidden maids quarters. Then when I'm old and have to move i can take my little house with me lol..

Wow! I would love to see more. It is gorgeous from what I can see. Do you know the history behind it? Were there any papers or other ephemera? How exciting!!!

They left very little. The lil old lady thought she was doing us a favor and had a cleaning crew come in and throw the whole house out. I was absolutely heart broken. They didn't clean out the carriage house as well. So i was left some nice things. And i did get a baby grand piano and grandfather clock with the house. I've posted a handful of them.

That's a shame. But I am glad you were able to get some of the lovely things that were left. I will have to look through your posts.

Thank you for the love, SEAN68, officialfuel, signaholic, and PoliticalPinbacks. PoliticalPinbacks, I am going to post a few more photos to show the progress. It is a work intensive project, but it's very enjoyable for both me and my husband. I would love to see your wife's dollhouse.

I can take a photo however she stored all the "stuff" and is ready for me to re-paint and repair most of it as we built it in the 1980s SO work intensive

It is, PoliticalPinbacks. It really is! I still think the company's "Mansions in Minutes" slogan is hysterically ridiculous.
