    This necklace has been in my family since the 1940's. It came from a relative who owned a shop in San Francisco. There are 93 carved beads and they are strung with black silk thread, knotted between each bead. The clasp setting appears to be gold filigree.

      Very nice and looks middle eastern, is it ivory or bone ? Seems old as no has time these days to make something like this. Worth a fortune to the right person,you won't find them here tho

      I have mystery beads too! What I have discovered. They are Chinese, made from ivory (illegal to sell, so they won't be showing up on auction sites), early 20th century, and the carvings depict stories. I'm still working on the stories. I think they are Chinese nature idioms.
