I got this 10"x6" parrot picture from my mother and didn't even notice it was made out of real or fake feathers. There's no name but whoever did it really knew what they were doing. I'm going to look for similar art but wanted to show this here also. Any info I can get would be great. Thanks.
I have some of these they are fairly common but still cool. I know mine were made in Japan or at least that's what the back of the frame says. I got all of mine at garage sales and thrift stores. I paid no more then a dollar for any of them. But I have seen some in antique stores for as much as $25.00. But they still have them. So I would guess that's to high of a price. Still a great piece of art.
My husband recently brought a similar one home too. Ours is appoximately 13x23 & the parrot is facing the other way. I'll take a picture and post later so we can compare. He was told it was his grandparents. No markings just paper backing and a string. I'd never seen them before. Do you think some kind of folk art?
@vintagemad, I thought it looked Japaneese and my husband said his dad was over there in the service years ago. Makes sense. Thanks for your information.
