Can someone please tell me how old this dresser might be? Has a label on the back that says something about "The War Department" ?

Close up of detail and the stamp in back . Open drawers and show joints that connect the front of drawer to sides . You can post 4 photo's .

I can't say I will tell you much but possibly give you a starting point for research. From 1939 until around 1945 furniture makers put paper tags and/or labels on their products to encourage people to support the war effort. You have a red in color label and Red Lion furniture supported the government effort. Take it for what it is worth, I'm a bit old and memory doesn't always support me. Good Luck.

Thank you for the info. I will keep searching. I know it needs some work. I don't and won't paint something or stain it unless I know the history. We recently went to a estate sale and wasn't looking for this piece but the neighbor just moved and she had a old vanity and bench I wanted so she sold them both. I will post pictures of the vanity and mirror later.
