This Victorian Peloton glass bowl is made from two layers of cased glass - clear over white, with applied Peloton threads in pink, blue, yellow, & white. It has a ribbed pattern & applied clear leaf with with a half daisy head design. The bowl measures 10 cm tall, 9 cm across the four peaked top rim, & 6.5 cm across the footed base. It has a partly polished pontil mark. The peaked top also has a clear applied chain type rigaree. This must be by the same maker as another bowl of the same distinctive form which I posted previously. Purchased from the UK & possibly English.

Whenever I see these I imagine them as frilly knickers under a dour Victorian dress; all bright and flirty!

You must be the Peloton Queen .. but no one else in the world has as many as you!

A charming metaphor, racer4four! :-) Yes, definitely they add a touch of frivolity...what a splash of fun items like this must have added to the dark Victorian interiors they once graced.

Many thanks, Marty, & I gratefully accept the title of Peloton Queen! Now all I need is a crown... :-)
