Does it have "RZM" stamp & code on the blade ? The emblem & wording on the blade look too raised & sharp, but what do I know ? Otherwise, it looks good.

it looks authentic. the only thing ive not seen is the tiger makers marks run parallel to the edge. all ive seen are turned 90 degrees of this 1. that doesn't mean its not authentic. it could very well have been placed in that position on a specific yr or model. none of the other makers of these knives have the logo ran parallel. id hate to think it be original and this stop it from having any value.
perhaps some one else has seen 1 like this. it was common practice to get things done in a hurry during those yrs and could've very well been stamped this way for a limited production run.
that being said, it wouldntve came with an rzm code. the tiger made knives, as my understanding goes , all predate 1936. the rzm code was created at that time.

myself, if the price was right, below 100, id think really hard on getting it. w/o further research. anything over that certainly needs more research.
a nice conversation pc for sure. thanks for posting it.

Wyatt, The swastika was not official until 1933. The more I look at the crude stamped letters & emblem, the more I question authenticity. Just not the quality demanded of German craftsmen.

That's the Problem guys with these German Items I believe the asking price was about 100 for it. Just looks like it's to questionable.

the swastika has been used on knives predating 1933 unofficially on lots of authentic knives. I have a sailors rigging knife by tiger.
the tiger is all wrong on the knife you've posted. the strips are centered in its back.. ALL ive seen are made with the strips extending from the edges inward. if that makes any sense. blunderbuss caught the crudeness. he is right !

I just seen 2 more. they actually do have the marks run parallel to the blade. both were crude examples. but no mistaking the tigers strips layout.

on a side note. id offer him 70 and see what happens. I cant emphasize enough the research needs to be done. some tiger models were sure crude, even double stamped. 5 or 6 versions are very similar to this. keep looking. it very doubtfully , could be a very rare specimen.

scroll down a few pages and view the early hj knife. the tiger is the same. its in frt of the Solingen instead of behind it, but its clearly the same tiger. indeed very rare. I bet if I keep looking, ill find a makers mark identical to this 1.

Under trade marks, I find one example what has the same unpolished lettering edges. I believe it is the real deal.
