Battery Operated Dog Japan

I haven't put batteries in this little dog yet but as it was only $12 I would doubt that it does.
Looks like its feet with rollers on the bottom have it walking while the head moves back and forth. Also the mouth would open and close.
Just put a pair of working batteries in it and it doesn't work so the cats can relax.
According to one just like it I saw on line it was made by Rock Valley Toys but this one has no markings. This was probably made in 1950s or 1960s.
