I found this in an old house{1910} at an estate sale. It is 8 inches wide and appears to be made of pewter. I thought it might be for a fireplace damper but if you pulled too hard it would break. Since it has a face of a smiling sun maybe it is for a shade. The 5 holes on the bottom must be for something. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Maybe it's a windchime !! The chain on the top makes me think it's for hanging, or strings of bells ???
