My Wife's father got this poster at an antique shop in the mid 60s . I am awe struck by how desirable this piece is. It has been on my wall almost a decade and I never researched this poster till now. Any collectors that may have an interest in discussion about this piece will be appreciated. I have a similar poster but mine is a repro from the 70's. Your poster is incredible!
CLASSIC!
what are you going to do with it?
I got one of these in the mid 90's at a record shop, just because it was so cool looking. Yours is from the 30's, vintagemad has one from the 70's, I have one from the 90's. Apparently it lives on. :)
Now this is one of a kind. Rare but interesting. Where did you find it?
I know this poster well, nice find but might be a re-pop (Reproduction) as the original poster is actually from 1934 and is a 1-sheet stone lithograph that would measure approximately 28" x 41". Also, there was a blank spot at the top of the original poster where the "Show Bill" would have been printed (i.e. theaters & show times) the other thing that is missing on this poster is the smoke which was printed on the far right side next to the standing woman. The smoke was ONLY printed on the originals, then disappeared on later versions.
Original or not, this is still a visually unique poster and in some states, is actually current for our time. Nice piece. Enjoy.
