I am going to ask for some help on this one. The polished bottom with a chamfered edge is SO Czech but I am out of my comfort zone with this - so hoping someone with knowhow for the Art Deco and 1940s/50s can help.

I can see it being anything from 1920 to 1950!

It has a very indistinct mark to base - all scratched away really, but looks as though it might have been quite detailed. It isn't in terrible order otherwise, for something nearly 100 years old, as I assume.

It is 13.5cm tall x 15.5cm in diameter.

Cool piece.... It has nice lines.... It is reminiscent of some Moser production.

Thanks, Craig, but I can't help feeling it isn't - the indistinct mark looks too fiddly.

Ian,in this case I can confirm attribution with a 100% certain that it is a Polish glass vase from 30s.Two glassworks produced very similar vases :Zawiercie and Niemen. The vase from Zawiercie has flat surface of cutting whereas the one from Niemen was produced in two lines with a flat and a bit concave surface.
This is a link to a very detailed comparison but unfortunetely in Polish.
I personally think your vase comes from Niemen because of its colour,so distinctive for their production.http://www.zbieraczstaroci.pl/szklo/wazon-zawiercie-pochodzi-z-huty-zawiercie/

Ivonne that is a wonderfully accurate description of the vase, I think. The Polish is a bit beyond me, but the pictures and sizes, allowing for my being a bit out make me think Niemen or someone who was copying them!
Is there a link to the Niemen logo? The design looks a bit Ike the Whitefriars lady with lots of writing but all scratched to hell!
