I need some help with naming these. The first two images are some for of bowls. You can see the tops to well in these pics but they are crimped and on the larger bowl, there are hobnails on the top of the bowl. The second two pics are I don't know if this is a set (the enclosed bowl of some sorts and top rest on the bottom (is it a plate) I don't know what this piece is. I bought it and the top piece was already resting in the bottom piece. Can anyone shed some light on these?

not a single one of these pieces was made by Fenton. im not sure who made all of these peices, but i know for sure that Anchor hocking made the plate in the third pic. and the bowl or plate that is up against the wall in pic four. thanks

Thank you, I'm really new at this. How can you tell it's not a Fenton?

after collecting for years... i have 5000 pieces of glass in the hobnail pattern now, as well as aquiring all the books that talk about this pattern, i know what pieces fenton produced and can tell fenton from other makers by the quality of the glass. thanks

5,000 pieces is serious collecting. Thank you so much for your insight! Take care.

oh yeah...I think that plate in the back is Anchor Hocking's Moonstone. They made same color glass as Fenton. One of the ways you can tell the difference between Moonstone and Fenton Hobnail, is if the hobnails more pointed, then it is Fenton. if the hobnails are rounded, and a little less raised, then it is Moonstone. :)

The butter dish and bowls are actually much earlier than Fenton. They are the Dewdrop pattern by Elson Glass Co. Elson Glass Company began in 1882 and became the West Virginia Glass Company in 1893. This is the original Victorian glassware that Fenton's Hobnail was modeled after.

Thank you so much for all of comments and support. I am new to this arena. I just bought them at auction because of the look of the glassware.

The only item of AH's Moonstone in the photos is the large ruffled plate.
