Found this in my father's garage after he died. Thick green glass bottle with a rubber stopper and a metal cage around glass. Doesn't appear to be an old fire extinguisher that was red glass... any ideas what it is????

It looks like a type of torpedo bottle. Most of them were made either in Canada or Europe. The concept was that they would role back and forth on a ship to build Carbonation in the Soda. For some reason I haven't seen many that are worth too much unless they came from a ship wreck. I think they're really cool and I like to collect them. Hope this helps.

Thanks Matt. I think you are right...... just can't figure out why it has the metal cage and rubber stopper. I think it was modified by my father for some other use... I think he cut off the bottle top and added the rubber stopper.
