Made from brass or pot metal. The opals are imitation. If the jewelry pieces are magnetic, it means ferrous metal was used in their construction.
I have a marked set by sherman with cabochons which are quite similar although they used a green cabochon very much like yours, have necklace and bracelet also they manufactured. Also to note a ring, (very similar to yours) and only ring I ever found by Sherman. Other companies in the states also made these cabochons also I have seen. The green ones are more plentiful than the opal variety. I find them all quite beautiful. The ones I have have different metal links.
