Wooden bowl

My father in law does some woodworking as a hobby and this is the latest bowl that he gave me. It is a wormy spalted maple wood bowl that came out of his front yard. You can see the grooves where the worm has eaten and then the spalted area which is caused by a fungus. I love the look of spalted wood. Kind of ironic how a worm and fungus can create a piece of wood to be made into something so pretty.
