Found this 1950s era at an antique mall along Route 66 in Oro Grande. Sadly it has a bit of damage but it seems to be vintage damage. The stuffing and wood has been attractively yellowed.
Unlike the more common Cosco stools where the steps are pulled out this one has steps that fold upside down when not in use. It is a bit simpler design but did not catch on like the Cosco stools.
Nice backside on this with the rivets holding down the vinyl.
Needed a stool like this for the downstairs to work on the various displays.
Hi fort! This is a nice one and red too? That's great!
I have an old one that's been around my mom's since I was a kid. It's yellow, no padding at all. Just metal with the black slip proof steps. I can't remember the steps going in upside down but they probably do. I found a green padded Costco one recently, still like the old one better! I do love that red though.
Racy red! These are the most sensible pieces of furniture, particularly for very short people like me.
How cool is this! :)
Boy does that stool bring back memories! It is just like the one my brothers and I sat on as Dad would give us our hair cuts with the electric clippers! Not saying Dad was a barber by any means ... didn't take a lot of talent to give a nice crew cut lol
I spent the day at the tar pits today so I am a bit behind in replying to comments. Should catch up tomorrow.
Love the colour! I have 2, they are so handy to have around
Thank you very much shareurpassion. Will be interesting to find out about your mother's stool. Note they are still making Cosco stools but they are from China.

Those are cool!
I have one that matched our yellow set of table and six chairs. We got it about 1953-4. Back in the day these were called high chairs.
Thank you very much Mrstyndall.
Thank you very much Phil. I have a feeling this one may have had matching chairs too.

Ran into this while researching my soon to be posted folding stool. They stole my photo.
