Hello -- This is the second basket of three that I recently acquired. Unfortunately I know very little about baskets, and am wondering if this is a Native American basket. This basket is 6" in diameter, and 2-3/4" high. The pattern is very detailed and the weave is fine. The colors used in the design are blue and orange. Can anyone please provide me with information on when this basket may have been made, and what kind of basket it is? Thank you for any information you can provide.

No, not Native American. It's Chinese, based on the material used and the construction technique. The long stitches left on the inside, is not found on any Native American tribes' baskets. It is common on Chinese baskets, as is the way the basket is started, with a spoke-like technique.
