So fellow CW's I could not resist this tiny, 3cm, Warrior brooch. I have no idea about its make, age, origin etc so I called it a Warrior brooch though he could just as easily be playing the flute ha ha. Def not an ooops moment as he is adorable but really would love some info if possible. The catch on the back looks like rose gold ( though unlikely ) and perhaps has been added at a later date ? The little man is in 3D, and the detailing is amazing for its tiny size but I must apologise for the piccys. Nitemare to get a close up. Not sure if I should clean it so advice, do's and do not's would be appreciated. Enjoy your weekend. X ps I don't even know how to categorise it but here goes.
This is Victorian - tube hinge, C clasp and extended length pin. The color is washed out and it looks silver in the photos. There are marks on the back but are too small to see. Can you take photos in natural light (no black background) and use a magnifying glass against the camera lens to try to photograph the marks, please?
The image looks more like a court jester than a warrior.
Yes it could def be a court jester. Good call. Will try and take a pict tom, its dark now ha ha. Fab thank you for your comments , your help is much appreciated.
Ps should I try and clean it ?
Looks like armor to me, so perhaps a knight.
As promised to Efesgirl more Piccys using a magnifier on a different background. Still no idea of jester, warrior or knight. Cannot see the makings on the back at all, just looks like scratches ha ha.
