PostCardCo…
(437 items)
Earlier this week I posted an Art Deco Cardboad Framed photo of a boy in sailor suit, 1915 (see photo 2) saying I was going to frame some of my vintage photos and see where it has possibilities for decor.
I have another real photo (Cabinet) into a mother of pearl inlay frame
( I need to center the photo better and there may be a shine on the glass front--Yes! I can now detect a sine on enlargement))
To me, framed like this really pops the photo. Now I do spend some time hunting for exceptional frames for my exceptional antique photos of yore. I hope this photo comes out well.
I checked out an auction site--and yes---there are the Art Deco cardboard frames, with and without photos, priced about $10 and up to about $50.
I have no clue what the value of the different style-type posted today is worth. I'll do some research, and have fun looking for frames now.
I guess I am going to have to build a LOT of wall shelves!! Whee!!!
Both are stand up easel frames
Looks really well in that beautiful frame!!!
Happy hunting, Lois :-D
Thanks---it looks like frames are not so well known of as an actual collectible. Maybe I am getting in on the ground floor and a good time. I think the pearl inlay frame is just gorgeous--( but then, I have always loved pearl, or silver better than gold . Even when I was real young I reject the gold for pearl or silver if I had a choice. But the star of the jewelry choice for me was abalone--and yes it still is! Foolish of me but the value is to the beholder. I have some beautiful geode jewelry too. Mother Earth supplies me. I must have been a druid in a past life.
Thanks for commenting on the frame-Kyra-I look at it 100 times a day with the photo I love in it. Maybe I am just silly, but it brightens more than the room--it brightens my life! !Simple pleasures.
