Last weekend at the flea market I found this old necklace.
It's 57 cm long and the smallest beads are 1 cm. en the largest are 1,5 cm.
There is an old screw clasp made out of a bead. The color goes from yellow to dark brown.

No reaction from simichrome, so no bakelite. But then what?

Celluloid, perhaps? I love the color!

Thanks Bonnie, quick as allways. I don't know how to recognize celluloid but shall try to find something on the internet.

I have written an answer in your other post. I have a similar necklace but with barrelshaped or oblong beads, whatever it's called :(. It is an old european necklace that tests positive for bakelite on the beads but not on the beadclasp.

Thanks Elisabethan. I have cleaned the necklace and tested with simichrome on the beads but no reaction.
