This came into our local (not for profit) thrift store, and are unsure of the value or how to market/price it. It is about 6 inches tall. Decorative porcelain? base with mechanical screw type press. Shallow dish type depression in the bottom and curved cup like void in the metal press. Could fit a walnut? The screw mechanics are very smooth, quick and functional. No one here seems to have ever seen anything like it before. Thanks for any information!

Cool, but I don't think it's for nuts. I have cracked a lot of nuts as a child and can tell you that you need some power to do so. the porcelain would not last very long. Maybe it's to apply some kind of seal or mark?

freiheit, I was thinking that too, but the china/porcelain is also fairly thick at the bottom. And TubeAmp sent a couple of great images of nearly the same thing and it was called a nut cracker! Thanks to both of you!
