Anyone know anything about this dresser? Possible Year anything
Hi there. This is a gorgeous piece! Have you pulled out each drawer and looked inside them? Look on the side and underneath of each drawer and also the back and bottom of the whole piece. There might be something there somewhere, just look closely and every spot, then look again in a spot you may have missed. It might help to know where she lived when she possibly got this dresser. I don't think I've ever seen those type of drawer pulls. They are just beautiful and might be the key to the what's and when's. And you did say she was 94, but didn't mention when she passed.
Thank You. My Grandmother just passed away this past December 2016. We looked all over the outside but never thought to check each drawer individually. we will be checking further Thank You. Here's hoping we find something
Looks to be a typical American Victorian marble top dresser. The pulls are typical of the era and found with some regularity. Your dresser looks to be walnut and dates from about the 1860s- 90s.
Online searches will yield many photos of similar dressers.
These are not in vogue now, but with time I suspect they will come back in style.

I have a dresser almost the same! It was my grandmother's as well, :)! Unfortunately, the original marble (like your's) broke and was replaced with a travertine top, :(.... you are so fortunate to have the original marble! The drawer pulls on mine are slightly different and possibly (hard to tell from your pictures) the top drawer side alignment (don't know how to say it) is in alignment with the drawers below - you piece looks like the top drawer is slightly wider than the ones below. Your piece is the only one I have been able to find online that looks like mine - and I have spent hours combing the internet!
It also looks as if your piece has a "shoe drawer" - at least, that's what we always called the little drawer at the base of the piece. Does it?
Thanks for posting! Enjoy your dresser, :)
