Picked this vase up today as well at the same store as the earrings. This piece is not marked. Any ideas as to maker? The old catalog pic shows my vases shape in center.

Mrstyndall, your vase is a Furnace Decorated Glass, most likely BOHEMIAN, same shape(with different spatter colours) is pictured in the Bohemian Glass 1915-1945 Robert &Deborah Truitt on page 49, top page.

Alan-thanks for the info. The vase is 8.5 inches tall. I would not have guessed it was that old-that is great!!

Well, sometime(many time) they have being take care of, so i have some in my collection with practically no wear on the base.
It's a very a good coincidence, has i found one Yesterday same shape, but no trailing, i like better your, because of this trailing, great find.

I was asking about this shape just yesterday. It appears in the 1930 Butler Brothers catalog in a grouping attributed to being most likely manufactured by Kralik.

Czechglass-thanks for the info-I'm still surprised that this vase is that old-I would have thought a much recent piece. I guess it is real mystery as to some when they are not marked .
Yes-that makes sense. It's interesting in the ad that you could 72 pieces for $4.00 back then. It's great to learn about new things :)
Nice find..... These came in a pretty wide variety of decors and sizes, and both with and without the stem coils. They were also most likely made in some form by many companies.
The majority of the examples in the ad you reference have actually been identified as Kralik production. Unfortunately, the lower left piece in the add is not shown well enough to fully identify the shape. None of the lower body and stem region is shown at all. Since the general shape is found in several similar variations, with the stem of the piece helping to accurately identify the shape, it is not not really possible to identify it as Welz production, Kralik production, or anyone else for that matter.
The shape of your example is shown in other known production literature associated with Kralik, in what appears to be production in clear glass. The foot style on your piece, as well as the shape, appears to be the same as some of the pieces in that literature. As a side note, the shape to the far right with the applied flower also appears quite similar to a vase shown in the same piece of Kralik associated production literature.
In your ad, 72 pieces would have actually been $24, as they were priced at $4 per dozen.

Thanks for the link. I think that it is hard to know what you don't know - for example, in links Ivonne sent me recently, there were lots of intaglio cut pieces which are all "Moser" on Ebay at the moment (and would be hard for me to tell apart) but (some) are in fact "Niemen".
If that sort of piece could be produced and be hard to tell apart, then I guess that a lot of the blown and mould-blown stuff could be as well.
These sorts of caveats should probably be a lot more prominent.
One certainty - Czechoslovakian!
Ian, thanks for responding-yes, you're right-I am learning that this process can be hard or perhaps impossible to figure out 100% who made it :)
Did you look over the body really well? I have ones in very similar shape that are marked on the body, instead of base, with a faint mark.
I looked but did not see one.
