Hello collectors, Here is one of my favorite Disney designed WW2 items in my collection. It is the original art work Insignia design by a Disney artist ( the artist signed Walt Disney name). It was designed for the USS Atule SS-403 submarine. It is still in it's original wardroom metal frame from the sub and is one of a kind. The 2nd photo is photo of the sub 3rd is the battle flag and 4th the arm patch. It was commissioned on June 21 1944 and served in the pacific. I only have the art work, have not found the battle flag or patch yet. Thanks for looking and hope you enjoy it.

That would be nice for you to find both. I'm sure you will. At first I wasn't sure if it was Mr. Limpet or Popeye! Neither ;)

Hey, Mickeysmagic, You have a Fabulous Collection!!! I love all your WWII memorabilia. I love my insignias, too. And I'm very lucky to have found that drawing of DOC from the USS Piedmont. It was a Xmas card that the ship's printing room made to send home. Have you seen it in my collection? It's pretty cool!

Hello, I was wondering if you knew about how much your art insignia is worth? I recently inherited a similar piece from my late Grandpa who was on a submarine in WW2 and have never seen anything close to it until now. Thank you

Hello JenSaw79, Thank you for asking, the art that is posted is one of a kind and was supposed to be on the submarine it is listed in official price guide to Disney Collectables 2nd edition by Ted Hake. Listed on page 999 and is a listed value of 1000.00 in 2007. This is an original art and is tied to being on the sub witch would make the value higher than a print of an insignia. Would love to see yours please post it with any info you have on the sub and unit. Hope this helps Mickey
