These are in my daughters bathroom. It has floor to ceiling subway tile. This bathroom was last redone in 1930. One of the knobs is stripped. Anyone know where i could find a replacement? Or if you can re thread them? Bummer she can't use her own shower. And hate to tear out the tiles to put in new fixures. Thanks!

You can get reproduction pieces. As a plumber, though, I don't think I've ever seen any original fixtures from before c. 1960. An update would increase property value.

I have 4 bathrooms that are 1930 or pre that. . All original fixtures. I have one bathroom that has a date on the toilet of 1890 and a pull chain flush. Then i have 2 updated bathrooms. But the plumbing under them has all been updated. And yes that's 6 bathrooms lol.. never have to wait to go again!

There's a toilet I want, as it was made here in my city back in the day. It' a big wooden cabinet over plumbing. LOL.

I have one tub that the fixures say grand Rapids something. I'll have to look in the morning. That was put in 1930.. i had 2 bathrooms added that year and 2 redone. . And no one really used them for years so they are just how they were.

If you have a plaster wall on the back side of the shower wall, you can replace it from behind without damaging the tiles. You could drill two holes on each side of the metal (brass) part of the handle and tap (thread)it for set screws to tighten against the stem. You can purchase s/s set screws in a hardware store. You stem and handle both I doubt can be purchased. I was a licensed plumber years ago and I used to work on the older valves. I really recommend just having it replaced. Best To You

Thanks for your comment. . The walls are sheet rock with metal grid. But i have recently had a different plumber look at it. And he said its not stripped. Just needs a new gasket and a copper washer and a prayer ..lol .. when he comes back im gonna ask him to try that. I'll let you know how it goes. And just relpacing is out of the question at this time. We have 6 bathrooms. So she can use a different one. But have other things that i need to fix first.
