This is a Singer fiddle base sewing machine with a 2 drawer treadel cabinet and coffin top. The machine measures 14 plus at the base not including the hand wheel. The flowers are scarce but what is there look like potentilla perhaps. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you . Rita
Hi there. I just gave one away that had Egyptian scroll work and it wasn't fun researching it. I will post a link for you that I found handy.

Thank you for the tip. Will try it and see.
I have found out that this machine is a Singer Improved Family, a precursor to the Singer 15. The bobbin case is hindged and opens to allow the bobbin to be put in. A real unusual machine but a beautiful piece of history.
They also seem to be a worthy investment if you can buy them right.
Go to ismacs.net and date it with the serial number. It is beautiful. Love the fiddle bases. I was able to identify both of my old fiddle bases through ismacs.
