This set was passed down from my grandmother, to my mother, and now to me. I've never been able to find out anything about them, but am pretty sure they were never used by my grandmother (because she couldn't cook!), or my mother (who cooked a lot, but for four unruly children, so these would have been kept safely out of our reach), and they haven't been used by me - because I only just rediscovered them in a kitchen dresser!!! The colours are very pretty and vibrant.
On the bottom of each piece, it says 'Made In Czechoslovakia', in a circle, with the 'Made' and 'Czechoslovakia' forming the outside of the circle, and the 'In' in the middle.
The fact that it says 'Made In Czechoslovakia' means it was imported after the tariff act which requires the words Made In. There are numerous sites that sell and buy replacements for both china and silverware. I have had good luck sending them a picture and asking them to identify it for me. You might try that if all else fails.
fhrjr2 - Thank you for your commend and advice. Very much appreciated.
Still looking and have sent photos and queries to a couple of sites as suggested by 'fhrjr2', but still nothing. :(
I have the same turkey plates. Have been trying to find information on them and this is the first time I have found them. I have e platters, dinner plates, bowl and gravy turkey. If you have found any info in the past four years, I would love to hear about it.
