This basket was purchased at a yard sale about 10 years ago for $2. It appears that devil's claw was used for the black trim and design, which includes coyotes or dogs and the rolling log design. A quarter is at the right edge of the picture for perspective. Would appreciate any information.
Thanks! Love, love, love the show!

It looks like a California mission basket. The pictorials on it are wonderful! I would take it to an appraiser, or even try Len Woods online.

You are very welcome. Any time you find a Native American basket that has the "whirling or rolling logs" on it, it is a great and OLD find. As you know, during the Nazi occupation the symbol was used, and gave it a new name. But it will always be known to people who know better as a Native American symbol, as it was used by them for hundreds of years beforehand. You definitely got a treasure for your 2 bucks!
