When given this lure about 60 years ago, it was referred to as a "Jitterbug."
While similar to the Arbogast Jitterbug, its eyes and its diving plane don't seem to be consistent. It is a wood lure, all black with painted eyes and the body length measures 3".
It was older and well used when I received it so I am very comfortable that it dates to the early 50's and is likely older.
    What is it actually?
    Thanks.

normally when you find these older lures from the 1950's with that decal eye with a little check in them they are knock off lures from japan. while old they have very little value. b

Thanks. I hadn't thought it had much value but am interested in the identification side. I have probably 50 lures from the era and earlier as well as another 50 from the 60's that my granddaughter has some interest in and am organizing them a bit. I just posted some photos in a new thread .
