These beautiful oil lamps were in my late grandmothers house, I grew up with them and would like to know more about these lamps. I think they are brass (they went through a fire so there is tarnish that I have not worked on yet ) The handles are dragons and the feet are Odin?
Height (till the wick end - 45 cm ( 18 inches)
Diameter of the body is 5 inches at the widest part.

Any insights on their stories will be greatly appreciated.

Must have looked fabulous when the Silver plate was complete. It is a fancy parlour lamp made of Brass so it was an expensive lamp when it was made. It has an Eastlake motif on the font holder so probably dates 187o-1890. The griffon handles and the Base motifs were also popular during this era.
Very often the Thumbwheel has some information on the maker. Is there anything marked on the under-base. A view of the burner/ shadeholder would be nice. These lamps were quite ornate so you can look up similar brass banquet lamps to see what it originally looked like. It might be worth while having it re-silvered since I don’t think that simple cleaning will make much of a difference especially if it was in a fire. RER
