Can anyone identify this tin. The top of the label says "MA - - - - - & Cos." There is a hint that the third and fourth letters are "Y and N" which suggests "Maynard." What's left of the 5th, 6th, & 7th letters does not conflict with this but I have not found anything on ebay or Google referring to "Maynard & Cos. Pure White Pepper / Boston." Also, the can is assembled with a series of little tabs and holes hooked together - no solder. I'm not a tin collector but I don't recall seeing that feature before and it may suggest a date of manufacture (?)

I saw tins like this years ago but they never held food products. They were advertising tins and not soldered.

Thanks, Brunswick. You're right. But it seems odd that the label definitely end with "& Cos." if Maynard is the name of a town. Of course it may not say Maynard but that fits so well with what remains of the lettering. I did some more research but can't find this specific can anywhere on Google. ???
