These plates have been in my family for over 100 years, it is believed that they came from my great grandfather who was a glass and china merchant in Wales. The information that was passed down to me was that they were Della Robbia Pottery from Birkenhead, England. I do not believe they are as the clay is white not terracotta. There are some makes on the back not related to the firing but can not work out what they are. Sadly one of the plates has been broken before I inherited them. It happened long ago when a boy visited playing with a ball and bounced it in the lounge room and knocked it off the wall. Very sad.

Is that a signature on the fishes tail on broken plate?
    7. waggy21 waggy21, 8 years ago
Yes it looks like E P Para***. The last three letters are hard to work out the first could be an n or u maybe the next looks like and I and the last could be an o or d very hard to say.

Well, I can't find anything. Do you think the first plate could be Cleopatra with the snakes beside her and the second looks like a Greek goddess??
