A few years ago while vacationing in Washington State, my wife and I fell in love with the art of Fruit Crate Labels. They are fairly cheep and not expensive to collection. Since then we've managed to collect quite a few paper labels and find them in the strangest places.
Last week we came across one actually applied to the end of a crate. I especially love the Mesa, Arizona connection we share.
I can see the appeal in these labels, and goose here is great! How nice to have it on one of those lovely wooden crates too.
It really is nice to collect something that doesn't take up a huge area in the house. I've got about 50 sitting in a drawer. This is the first one that get a special spot on the book case.
Someday I'll figure out a cool way to display some of them other than framing them individually.
I also buy these labels, they are colorful and appealing, as well as nostalgic and charming, reminders of an agrarian American West. I only own one or two originals, the rest are repros from the 70s. Thanks for sharing this, look forward to seeing more of your collection. :)
i have a crate end exactly like this one!
