Berlin Iron jewelry are one of my two greatest passions. That is why I am again very pleased with the new Iron Berlin plaque a classic portrait. It's extraordinary to see how beautiful and fine these cameos are made in the period around 1820. I now have a total of 5. Together these would make a great necklace framed in gold. Perhaps it happened sometimes. Who has any idea who are these gods or people ??

The center one seems to be holding a mirror and a snake, so it's probably the Prudence (Prvdentia).

The first one, on top left, I would say is Socrates.

Bottom left, he is Apollo, inspired in the famous Apollo Belvedere marble sculpture.

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apollo_Belvedere

Top right it is Zeus (Jupiter), with a laurel wreath around his head
      https://www.google.com.br/search?q=zeus+jupiter+cameo&safe=off&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjVvOKyzIzTAhVDvZAKHc00DUcQsAQIHA&biw=1242&bih=615

Bottom right...the very difficult one...no clues on the image, nothing in the hair, no symbols to help...maybe Aphrodite (because of the Apollo one), but she seems too modest for the role...

What an excellent group Marga. I had never thought iron could be so beautifully made into jewellery.

You must be a great classicist mcheconi!

Hello, racer4four thank you for your compliment. Yes, Berlin Iron Jewelry is again represents a chapter in the history of ancient jewelry. These are rare pieces now but fortunately still preserved some made late 18th early 19th century. Here on this link you can see some of these beautiful jewelry. https://nl.pinterest.com/CaroleAnneCyr/berlin-iron/
Also, you can look if you're interested the article that I have written for CW and the small collection of this kind of jewelry: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/user/Agram.m/berlin-iron-silesian-mesh-work-jewelry

I agree on the Apollo Belvedere & the Zeus/Jupiter. The forward facing Greek man is Homer. I am not seeing a snake with the standing female but do see a mirror & what looks to me like a lidded jar for ointment or scented oil; she's more covered up than usual - perhaps consistent with the sensibility of the time - but those two attributes suggest Aphrodite/Venus to me. The remaining lady is still a puzzle, but it's amazing how once you're on the lookout for a subject, they have a way of appearing. If she does, will post.
