    Small pottery flower pot hand painted in Japan. I am interested in learning more about what the painting is about, the horse is rather large and the man quite small. There is also a tree, and the picture repeats on the opposite side.

      I can't help with info about the painting but the mark is shown on the gotheborg.com site with the following information: "Might be of the Hotta Yu Shoten & Co. The use of the word "Shoten" indicates the name for a shop which is selling products from its own kiln. In either case they seems to have went out of business in 1947. This mark likely to be from the 1920-30s."
