Mystery chair

Please help! I'm trying to figure out what this chair is that my mother in law gave me. Her mother bought the chair somewhere in California and had it reupholstered in the 80's so I have no clue how much is original or if they tried to reproduce it as closely as it was originally. Anyone got any ideas?

Edit: the back Cushion is stuffed with feathers, no clue on the seat Cushion except that it is very heavy. Also there are springs under the seat Cushion but I can see anything since the reupholstery company nailed fabric across the underside
