Approx 12 inches long, cast iron tool with no visible identifying markings. Rollers are 2 sets of metal wheels which look like they are intended to be replaced after wear. I inherited this from my grandfather who was a jack of all trades. Any help is greatly appreciated.

      slackjack -
Is blue or purple in this year? Seriously though, what happens when grinding wheels are dressed? I promise no more jokes.

Dressing a wheel evens out the wear and makes it flat across the face again. They normally get worn away on the sides first so this tool brings the center of the stone back even.

Used these tools too many times as a Mold Maker 100% a grinding wheel dresser, The spinning wheels in the center start out pointed a bit like a spur, however once properly dressed there ready for a night out (jk). Welcome to CW

As above, for dressing a grinding wheel. The spinning wheels are designed to be replaced when worn.

FWIW I prefer a diamond stone for dressing grinding wheels.

Me 2 Onedtent (Carborundum) diamond sticks make for a smoother surface, if the wheel was tore up I used the dresser shown then Carborundum and finished with wood (usually the handle of a paint brush often kept near a grinder for clean up) to pull the loose stones from the wheel.
