Found this piece at an antique shop today. I never came across one before. It seems to have the woman's name, NY address , and pat'd/84 etched into the back. Tough to read around the bottom part where the date is though
That's cool.
Would it be possible to get a photo of the back without the glare - it might be more readable.
I'll try my best
Looks like:
S - - - M - - - - - -
US
La Rue ( Street )
953 Broadway NY
Patd ? Patel ? / NY
Kinda looks something like some of the words.....as a blind Guess....LOL
Sule Makerm or something like that for the name????
Trying rubbing some Baby powder Talc ( or any Talc ) over the letters to highlight them and take another pic....Thanks
Ya the name is tough but i agree with you that it's Makerm, as for the first name no idea lol, the last line it looks like pat'd / 84 to me
Is this photo on porcelain? There is a special name for that type,I forgot what!
Ya it looks to be a hand painted piece on porcelain
I love this!! I'm fascinated with mourning items from the Victorian period. In fact, I even have a few mourning top hats in my collection.
