This was given to me by my wife's Grandfather. I have another one that appears to be repainted and the mounts or "slots" @ the bottom are broken off. I have been to many sites and cannot find this plate!! I can only assume it is RARE !! I have no idea of it's value. I would appreciate some opinions. This item is NOT leaving my possession as I am from Cumberland, MD !!

It's been quite some time since Cumberland, MD was referred to as "the gateway to the west" .... does this help anyone to "date" this item. ?? I am not sure when that moniker was dropped.

Through further research I have found out that it was made for the centennial celebration of the moniker " The Gateway to the West" in 1937. Does this help anyone place a possible value on this? Or am I talking to myself?
