I've recently bought this really heavy, beautiful and well kept vintage wool British army (Gordon Highlanders?) kilt. I'm not 100% sure about the date - WWI or WWII era. But looks very old and very solid. A lot of stamps inside on the lining (also wool). Some of them are faded. The main stamp is CRAN H/Q. I guess that the HQ means Headquarter, but don't know what is the meaning of CRAN. Also there are few surnames. And also there is a mark CRAN PENINSULA. The real maker and size or date tag seams to be removed.

I'll be really happy in any helping to identify this historical piece!

    Thanks! :)

possibly belonged to Major John Cran, Gordon Highlanders 1918-1920. As a Major he may have been stationed at regimental HQ. HQ1 could also refer to 1st Battalion HQ.
