This is a "prize" I found in an attic !!! What do you think, is it really a 1879 Model 12 table ? I can't find a picture of one with (2) drawers, versus (1) drawer. Has anyone got a machine that goes with this year ?

I have a sewing machine table like yours with plain legs (Not Singer) Found in the house I grew up in which was built in 1838 among other things left behind by previous owners. It still had the machine in it at the time which was very very early & also very rusty (not a Singer). In later years my Dad cut out the hole in the top to be large enough to fit my modern Singer & I have used it ever since. Have never seen another like it. We removed the pedal & repainted the legs black & refinished the wood. I was so surprised to see your picture. I will set up a show & tell so you can see the top cover for the machine, also which really finishes it off. Wish I still had the old machine but it's long gone.

I don't see screw holes on the right front corner for the rewinder that screws onto the table for a model 12. I would guess a model 13 on which the rewinder mounted to the machine base. I would like to have a table like yours for my model 12 which I cannot find a reasonably priced or condition table. Do you have the bentwood top with it?

I have this exact table, with the sewing machine installed, and a wooden box cover. The serial number on the sewing machine dates from 1883. It is painted with flowers. What is something like this worth?

dianne : A class 66 Singer treadle sewing machine is NOT an industrial or leather sewing machine . I have worked in two sewing factories and believe me this machine is not industrial . I have one class 66 Singer in pristine condition . It will sew through thin leather , but I would not use it that way every day . They are made to be a home machine , not industrial . If you saw that statement on E-Bay you were misslead . The people that make those kind of statements on E-Bay about home machines are just trying to get a higher price for their machines . Just because someone makes such a statement does not make it true .

As for everyone else wishing to know the value of their sewing machines it has everything to do with condition . To bring a good price the paint and decals need to be in good condition . The machine needs to form a stitch , you need to have the bobbins and attachments . Having the instruction book is also helpful . There is no way to set a value for anything without see it . If you want to get some idea look on E-Bay to see what machines like yours are selling for . That will give you SOME idea . I checked on one of my machines this moring . Ones like mine were selling anywhere between $77.00 - $ 200.00 . I only paid $ 45.00 for it so I put it into one of our Flea Market booths for $60.00 . If it does not bring that I will come down on the price . Keep in mind that to bring a good price for any sewing machine it needs to be a collectable machine in good working order in good condition . Not all sewing machines are collectables . Age does not determine value .

Bill ; I do not know a whole lot about this type of sewing machine cabinet . However from the photos it looks to me as if this cabinet is for a 3/4 size machine . I would need to know the measurements of the opening before I would know for sure but from where the hinges are located it does not look to be for a full size machine . It will be harder to find a 3/4 size machine for it as they are highly sought after by collectors . I would suggest you list the cabinet on your local craigslist .
