Style and approx age of this black old pottery???

My mom purchased this from a collector at an estate sale 20 years ago. It does not appear to be made on potters wheel but is handmade. Is painted black with white geometric lines with classic clay color inside like a terracotta. Very solid and heavy for the size which is about 9 to 10 inches high. I'm so stumped can't find anything very close to it.
