I purchased this at an estate sale but do not know the origin. It is a heavy covered soup tureen I believe. The design appears to be landscape and a cherub flying over. It is blue and white and might be transfer ware? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Oh, and another thing I long ago noticed on mine, as is with yours, albeit there is heavy 'crazing' in most of the glaze (in nooks and crannies, shall we say, it is lacking, which is concerning too), there is minimal base wear-- which correlates with more modern manufacture.
Lots of good fakes/repros out there. I've long wondered if that is what we have.
Crazing and staining in it is easy to fake.
Just a possibility.
That is true and I plan to take it in to an antique dealer near me to see if they know. Hopefully it is legit, but sadly you never know at the time of purchase. But I would think if someone went to that trouble it would be easier to find information on. Fingers crossed!

An import to America (I assume you found it in America) before 1891, as it became mandated that imports must be marked with country of origin.
But, I have seen mid-century porcelain Asian imports with only stickers to say, "Hey, I was made in Japan!"
I'm going to propose contemporary Chinese as it has Jingfa clouds in the decor.
