    -18 inches in Diameter

    -double sided

    -porcelain

I was hoping someone could tell me how to clean it without damaging the sign, or if I should even try to clean it at all.

I was also wondering if anyone could tell me the value of the sign.

Does anyone know what part of the country it came from?

    Thanks for your help!

Your sign was used by the Bell System from 1921 to 1939. They came in two sizes 18 & 12 inch, also two colors white with blue letters like your or blue with white letters.
These signs were used all over the country. a value is from 150 to 250 depending on condition.

As to cleaning a porcelain sign, IMO, there's not much chance of damage with simple soap & water and a synthetic scrub pad (but start with the sponge side). If the problems aren't removed by one scrubber side or the other, they likely are permanent.

Some signs suffer from haze consisting of mineral deposits that cannot be removed
