    Hi CW Gang ~

I am posting this item again as I had posted it here like 3 years ago, and those pics were not so great then. So these are better. PLUS I did do an Ice Test on this and the ice melted really fast like it was hot. So might that help some on the metal of this item. It also looks like Spelter was added in the base to give it some weight. I do think it is old. I somtimes wonder IF under that Spelter might have been some mark ~ as I found something like this on-line, and that is where it was marked in the lower part of the inside neck. So anyhow, here are better pics, and the Ice test.

Silver, Silver Plate, or other metal ......???

Thanks for LOOKING // LOVING !!

...and here is my other old, old post of this vase:

      http://www.collectorsweekly.com/stories/126441-silver-trumpet-vase

It "reminds" me of things like this when I think of Age or date of this:

      http://www.tias.com/10925/PictPage/3923753451.html

or see the 3rd from the bottom here with hexgonal sides it reminds me of -- for a dating era:

The rim is certainly similar, however the body is quite different and I would guess from a different era. To me looks a bit like a mix of antique and Egyptian Revival or Art Deco, perhaps? Did you try shining it up to see if it's silverplate or silver?

Hi Katherine...I did shine up a little area and it does kinda look like, but that is also why I tried the ice test too...it melted very fast. So I am still not sure to say for, for, for sure??

oh and yes Katherine, those links are just something similar -- as mine is like hexgonal flat sides in the middle......but I just put those links in to show something kinda like it

That is why I did the ice cube test......I am not going to say it is ( when it isn't ) ...I may take it to a store to be checked out !!
