Supposedly, the rocker is at least 100 years old. Have not been able to discern when it was manufactured and by whom. Also, would like to know at least approximate year or period. It was bought in an estate sale in the 1920's along with furniture of the same style. Any feedback will be apreciated. Everything is the same and has not been refurbished since its purchase by my grandparents with the exception of the fabric. Upholstery is original. As far as I can ascertain, it is handmade, no screws and/or nails. It works fantasic and is actually a very comfortable chair.
The non rocking chair is my favorite and was the favorite of my grandfather and father. It is so comfortable that I have sat on it many an hour. That is the chair I intend to hold on to for as long as I live. I believe it was bought along with the rocking chair. Any information from anyone out there will be helpful.
The chair is basically a savonarola chair, see images in google.
I used to have one. Yours has an image of The North Wind on its back which I like.
PhilDMorris-Thank you for your input, it is much appreciated. Now I have a frame of reference in my search on the internet. Many thanks!
