This Victorian glass vase is actually one of a pair (they are split between two houses - I lead a complex life). One day I will try to get a picture of the pair - but for the moment, one will suffice, as they are basically identical.
The vase measures 21 cm tall, 9 cm across the jack - in - the - pulpit style top rim, & 8.4 cm across the base, which has rough snapped pontil mark.
It is made from milky, opalescent glass with a swirling ribbed pattern that shades to a deep emerald green at the edges of the crimped top rim. There is an applied daisy like flower in yellow, with an orange centre, & green leaves, which contain uranium & glow under UV light. I'm fairly certain that it (& its absent twin) are of Bohemian origin.
This is gorgeous....the leafy rim shading the flower.....
Nice one quite different ,
Many thanks, sklo42!
Thanks also, Marty...it was from Wenty... :-)
