So, this is my Mystery Necklace.
A gentleman friend picked it up at a yard sale in London, Ontario, Canada. He gave it to me, since he thought it was quite unique.
I have had it in my possession for over 30 years and no one can tell me anything about the origin, or history of this necklace.
The back is stamped with the Initials M.O. or perhaps, M.D. and in a circle it is also stamped:
HECHOENMEXICO
CUERNAVACA
0.925 stamped.
I was curious and took this to a Jewelry store, and they verified it is 0.925 Silver, from Mexico and advised me to not store it in a box (which I had been doing), so the Patina would naturally overcome the piece.
A couple of days later I realized I forgot to ask the Jeweler to weigh this necklace, so I though I would take it to my local Pawn Shop since they have scales to weigh Gold Jewelry etc. and before I could even ask the man to weigh my necklace, he took once glance at it and said I don't touch "collectibles". I never got it weighed because NOW I was even more curious as to HOW he knew by one look, that this necklace was even such that, a Collectible?? That's as far as I have gone on getting any background on this necklace.
Does anyone have any more answers?
Just need help knowing a bit more about this Mystery necklace.
For Mexican silver marks take a look here and try to calculate when it was bought plus 30 years in connection with mark systems (made before or after the eagle mark introduced 1948).

Pawn shop owner was not kind and helpful person, that`s all. Has nothing to do with ``touching collectibles``.

Thanks Ivan and Efesgirl, but have not found the same markings/stamp in anything you provided. Please take a look at the stamp that I put up in the pictures. Maybe that will help?
Efesgirl, WOW, thanks! That is a bracelet and Earrings set. Absolutely the same design as my necklace. I'm looking into that asap.
Thank you everyone! This necklace is from the early 30's. Definitely Cuernavaca made in Mexican silver. No one is certain of the M.O. initials stamped on it, or perhaps the M.D. as it appears sometimes if you tilt the clasp. I would assume M is for Mexico, but the O/or D is elusive.
One step further now in solving the mystery. Now to figure out the worth. EFESGIRL: The Earrings and Bracelet set on that site is selling for $245.00 CDN. In total there were 6 links on the bracelet. One link each for each earring. My necklace has 22 links. I may get it weighed asap. :)
Thanks again!
