I know this is the popular 1972 Sarah Coventry "Springtime" brooch. My question is that, the marquise stones are dark purple but, the catalog and ad photos seem to show it with a blue stone? And the fuscia rounds may be red? Did Sarah Coventry change this up prior to manufacturing?
Some classify this as Celtic but I do not see any kind or style of "knots" on this. To me, what I see is Art Nouveau.
Is you brooch stamped "Sarah" on the back? If so I wouldn't worry about the colour changes - could have been changed prior to manufacturing or afterwards.
Very, very nice indeed.
Gillian, t is definately a SC piece and all are made just like mine with the purple stones, not bluish as in the printed materials.
Oh Goody -------- another "Sarah Coventry" collector!! I have some pieces posted too.
Love the SC!!
antiquerose, do you also like Emmons? I am seeking an elusive piece by them.
Added another photo of a brooch that looks like it may had been an early production and the reason for the "bluish" color marquise stones seen in ads. Look like they were AB but possibly changed because it clashed with the center blue stones?
