This lamp was in my parent's bedroom since the early 1950s. I think it came from my maternal grandparent's home (I never knew them). The one-piece glass shade, 14" diameter, is crinkle-textured on the outside and has repetitive designs with gold highlights. Inside of the shade is smooth, milky glass. Base and hardware are brass. Advice to others--ask questions while your sources are still alive! Can anyone identify this lamp?

My family has a lamp almost identical to this one. The receptacle says it was made by Bryant Mfg. Co. The glass lamp shade is etched just like this one, except it has a winter type scene on it. Looks hand-painted. The glass is a pinkish translucent color. It has a very musical ring to the glass when tapped. Almost bell-like in tone.
Our lamp has been in the family at least 90 years. No idea who made it though.

Thanks, Gettingolder. Mine, too, has the Bryant name on the light bulb receptacle. I paid little attention to this marking until now as the receptacle is generally purchased from another company, not made by the lamp designer. Upon more careful look, however, the receptacle is not the usual type. It is more stylish design in brass, in keeping with the lamp design. Mine shade, too, has a wonderful bell-like ring when thumped. I will do some more research on the Bryant name. Thanks again!

Forgot to add that the only difference in our lamp and yours (beside the color and design of the shade), is that ours has a pull chain. Other than that, identical. Ours is getting almost too fragile to handle or move. Just for looks now, instead of light, sadly. My father's mother had it in their family since the 1940s, at least.

It was made by The Pittsburgh Lamp, Brass & Glass Co. or PLB&G Co. Great lamp! One of their best. Made around 1910-1925.

@JohannB:Thank you for the info. I'll take your word on this. The pull chain on ours works fine, but I'm a little leery in using it more than needed. The best bulbs to show off the beauty of the incredible glass shade are the smaller, frosted 25 watt incandescent, old-style bulbs.

JohannB-- Thanks for your very helpful information! After some searching, I've now found a few similar lamps that are identified as "Pittsburgh" but none with such an ornate shade.
