Your photos are too dark. I see a D. Z. and a B.N. on the back?

There is a W stamped below the D that you see in the picture you can see it if you blow it up to W or M

I have a few of these swirl & ball ashtrays in slag glass and they were made by Wesmoreland glass company in the US . None of mine are marked with the W but I must have a closer look sometime .

that is the intertwined WG mark for Westmoreland Glass that began use c1946. Don't know that this ashtray had a pattern name; but found one in blue at bigashtray.com

Westmoreland introduced their #1842 Swirl and Ball pattern c1940; the pattern was reissued in various colors for many years.

The blue is really pretty too, I've had this purple one for years but was unable to identify it. Thank you so much for your help. I have a couple other pieces that I'm looking to identify I will post them soon. I love collecting unusual pieces and I have fun finding where they came from. Thanks again for your help

Yes , Very artsy & futuristic in shape , for its day , is what drew me and the purple or green & white swirl in the slag glass a bonus on mine . I think the swirl refers to the wavy indented lines in the tray , but don't quote me on that one LOL . Just an observation .
